Financial Accountant

A fantastic opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join an Irish headquartered business and to be part of a growing company that possesses international expertise. As a Financial Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of areas covering every aspect of finance within H&MV Engineering. You will work closely with the Financial Controller, assisting with a number of duties.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of consolidated month end accounts including balance sheet reconciliations and profit & loss analysis

  • Variance analysis – Review of monthly management accounts for accuracy and reasonableness to identify any deviances from forecast

  • Assist in preparation of the month end reporting pack including analysis and commentary on financial KPI’s

  • Responsive to financial inquiries by gathering, analysing, summarising, and providing relevant commentary on the financial information available

  • Supporting Tax Compliance across all jurisdictions – e.g., Vat, PAYE, RCT, CT and local equivalents with our 3rd party providers

  • Assisting in the annual audit process under Irish GAAP, along with multiple jurisdiction subsidiaries

  • Assist with system upgrades, automation upgrades and digitalisation initiatives

  • Ad hoc projects as required – including new country / company set up. Business partner the company through this process

Skills / Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)

  • Organized and strong planning ability essential along with excellent attention to detail

  • Experience of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong Financial analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach towards business issues  

  • Ability to work as part of a larger team as well as on own initiative

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
