Rosspile 110 kV Solar Farm
- Case Study: Renewables Energy
Location: Ireland
Client Challenges
The client required a 110 kV GIS substation to enable a 95 MW connection of a solar farm. H&MV assisted the client in the planning process and liaised between the client, TSO and local councils throughout to ensure efficient co-ordination.
H&MV's Solution
- H&MV Engineering was appointed the principal contractor for the construction of the Rosspile 110 kV solar farm grid connection. The scope of works included the contestable 110 kV GIS substation, complete with 0.5 km HV cabling works to two new 110 kV overhead line masts, 110/33 kV client substation and solar farm network cabling.
- H&MV worked in consultation with EirGrid (TSO) throughout the design phase and designed in accordance with the functional specifications.
- As part of the design process, a full 3D model of the station was prepared. H&MV Engineering was responsible for safety and risk management throughout the project lifecycle and produced a complete set of electrical as-built drawings and a handover file.
