H&MV Engineering plans 1,000 U.S. jobs as it scales to power AI and critical infrastructure buildout

High-voltage engineering specialist establishes North America headquarters in Dallas as demand grows for data center, grid and energy infrastructure

H&MV Engineering today announced plans to create 1,000 U.S. jobs as it scales to deliver the critical power infrastructure for America’s AI and data center buildout, grid investment and expanding energy infrastructure.

The global high-voltage engineering specialist has established its North America headquarters in Dallas, which will serve as a base for its growing engineering and project delivery operations across the country. H&MV has multiple projects in design and construction across the U.S., ranging from 138kV to 345kV, with Texas and Louisiana its most active markets.

H&MV designs, builds and energizes high-voltage substations and grid connections for hyperscale technology companies, utilities and energy developers. The 1,000 new roles are planned over the next five years as H&MV expands its U.S. engineering, construction and project delivery capabilities, building on its existing Dallas presence and the acquisition of Texas-based Cooke Power Services earlier this year.

P.J. Flanagan, CEO of H&MV Engineering, said, “AI and data center growth is putting huge focus on the need for power infrastructure, but the opportunity is much broader. Across the U.S., investment in the grid, renewables and battery storage is driving demand for new high-voltage infrastructure. That is exactly where H&MV specializes, and why we see the U.S. as a major part of our next phase of growth.”

Ken Gilmartin, Executive Vice President, U.S., H&MV Engineering, said, “Dallas is the right base for the next stage of our U.S. growth. It puts us close to customers and major growth markets, with access to a deep pool of engineering and construction talent. We’re building the team and capabilities here to deliver complex power infrastructure at scale across the U.S.”

H&MV’s U.S. expansion comes amid rapid global growth, with revenues increasing from $70 million in 2020 to more than $1.1 billion today. The company was recently valued at approximately $1.6 billion in a new investment transaction providing long-term capital to support its international expansion. H&MV has more than 24GW of projects in design and construction globally, a $2.3 billion order book and $18.6 billion pipeline, and is targeting $3.5 billion in annual revenues within five years.
