Exploring the Journeys of H&MV Engineers

Stories of Passion, Growth, and Innovation, Exploring The Engineers of H&MV Engineering

At H&MV Engineering, our team is built on diverse experiences, backgrounds, and aspirations. Each engineer brings a unique journey, shaped by challenges, discoveries, and personal growth. We sat down with some of our engineers to learn more about their stories, their day-to-day work, and what inspires them most about their roles. Here’s what they had to say:

Sridevi G – Turning Complex Problems into Tangible Solutions

Sridevi’s fascination with electrical systems started at a young age, leading her to pursue an engineering degree. She joined H&MV straight out of college and has quickly found her place in the world of high-voltage substations.

“As engineers, our job is to make the impossible possible – to turn ideas into tangible solutions that make life better for everyone.”

She enjoys collaborating with her team, working on schematic designs, and refining her skills in software like ETAP and EPLAN. Her dedication to continuous learning keeps her motivated every day.

Barry Neylon – From Aircraft Maintenance to Power Systems

Barry’s path into electrical engineering was anything but conventional. Originally trained as an avionics technician, he transitioned into electrical engineering and hasn’t looked back since.

“System studies test my HV knowledge frequently, and I’m constantly learning”

His journey has taken him from the Limerick office to Frankfurt, allowing him to combine his love for engineering with his newfound passion for travel. He thrives on problem-solving, particularly in power system studies, and enjoys seeing projects take shape from design to implementation.

Marko Drmić – A Passion for Protection and Fieldwork

With a master’s degree focused on generator protection, Marko’s career naturally led him to H&MV, where he works on substation design and commissioning.

“I developed a greater interest in fieldwork, protection, and secondary schematics.”

His time in Frankfurt provided hands-on experience with substations, deepening his interest in secondary design. His drive to learn from experienced colleagues and his eagerness to take on new challenges make him an invaluable part of the team.

Sara Krofl – An Adventurous Spirit in Engineering

Originally from Croatia, Sara’s love for international experiences brought her to Frankfurt, where she thrives in power system design.

“Life is like exploring the ocean – the further you go, the more treasures you find.”

From internships with Končar Instrument Transformers to tackling innovative projects at H&MV, she enjoys the challenge of refining designs and solving complex problems. Outside of work, her passion for travel and adventure keeps her exploring new places and experiences.

The Future of Engineering at H&MV

Each of these stories highlights the passion and dedication our engineers bring to H&MV. Whether they are designing substations, conducting system studies, or working on protection systems, they are united by their drive to innovate and learn.

Our Graduate Programme continues to provide incredible opportunities for engineers to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to meaningful projects. If you’re an aspiring engineer looking for a place to grow and make an impact, H&MV is the place to be!
