Client Challenges.
The client required a competent contractor with high-voltage experience to deliver detailed electrical design, civil design and construction for the 400kV cables, electrical installation and commissioning works to connect the BESS and solar facility to the National Grid 400kV system.
Our Solution.
H&MV Engineering was appointed Principal Contractor under CDM 2015 Regulations with overall site and project management responsibility.
Our scope included design, procurement, supply, installation and commissioning of the 400kV and 33kV electrical network required to connect the BESS and solar facility to the transmission network. This encompassed commissioning and testing in compliance with National Grid requirements, all associated earthing, protection schemes, interlocking, controls and metering systems.
H&MV Engineering coordinated delivery of the BESS components to site, including power conversion systems, 33kV transformers, containerised batteries, HVAC and fire suppression systems, whilst maintaining liaison with landowners, planning authorities and the local community.
