Client Challenges.
The client required a competent contractor with both ICP and high voltage experience to deliver electrical and civil design, civil construction, electrical installation and commissioning works in order to connect the BESS to the Scottish Power 275 kV transmission system.
Our Solution.
- H&MV Engineering was appointed the Principal Designer and Contractor under CDM 2015 Regulations with the overall site and project management responsibility.
- Our scope included design, procurement, supply, installation and commissioning of the 275 & 33 kV electrical network required to connect the BESS to the transmission network. Commissioning and testing were in compliance with and approved by Scottish Power. H&MV completed all associated earthing as well as protection schemes, interlocking, controls and metering systems.
- H&MV Engineering coordinated with the client regarding the delivery of the BESS to a site, which included PCS, 33 kV transformers, containerised batteries, HVAC and fire suppression system and liaison with landowners, planning office and local community.
